After today's upholding of the PPACA, those of us who support Progressive ideals must work harder than ever if we are to continue to achieve victories like this.
Although it is OK to take a moment to celebrate, or at least breathe a sigh of relief, we cannot delay in organizing (a.k.a. herding cats) heading into the 2012 elections.
Chris Cillizza, like many of us today have a first-take reaction of shock & amazement about the SCOTUS decision. Buried at the end of his WaPo column today is an ominous warning.
Supreme Court hands President Obama a major victory on health care
“Today’s ruling crystallizes all that’s at stake in November’s election,” said Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell. “The only way to stop Barack Obama’s budget-busting health care takeover is by electing a new president.”
That message should resonate with the Republican base who hates — and that is not too strong a word — the law and wants it repealed at all costs. And, if the Republican base needed more incentive to show up and vote this November (they didn’t), they now have it — and then some.
Those who hate Democratic values are seething right now. This victory for our side is a white hot cattle prod in their side.
We on the left are all too used to being on the losing side after years of Bushian travesties, and more recently the Koch Empire victories in Wisconsin.
With just 4 months left before the election, the opposition now has all the motivation they need to fight tooth & nail to the finish.
Health ruling instantly mobilizes GOP
...Congressman Patrick Kennedy sent out a plea for donations, saying that if the bill is struck down, “Democrats will need to redouble our efforts,” and if it’s upheld, “dangerous Tea Party extremists will go on a rampage.”
A rampage.
We have seen what that entails before.
If you need reminders, these are from just this week

We need to be prepared to fight back like never before.
Don't sit back and celebrate today's news too long.
Those who would rather see us dead are working their asses off at this very moment.
